Fujino Yamanami Onsen

・・・Fujino Yamanami Onsen・・・

Fujino Yamanami Onsen is a hot-spring resort in the lush forests of the Fujino area, near Lake Sagami, Kanagawa Prefecture. Its location on a small hill overlooks Yamanami Park and a panorama of mountain scenery. The lake offers boating, fishing, and other activities, making it a popular recreational spot for Tokyo residents. The landscape itself is a major attraction, especially in spring when the mountains brighten with spring greenery and in autumn when the foliage turns colorful.

Fujino Yamanami Onsen started operation in 1997 as a drop-in hot spring. Today, the resort features indoor baths (including a jet bath), rotenburo (open-air bath), and sauna, as well as a small dining area. In winter, visitors can enjoy a bath full of yuzu, a citrus fruit thought to have therapeutic properties that is grown in Fujino. The hot-spring water comes directly from the source and is kept at roughly 40°C.

The on-site restaurant serves various dishes for visitors to enjoy after a soak. These include ramen, tempura soba, pork cutlet curry, and ginger pork.

To reach Fujino Yamanami Onsen from JR Fujino Station, take a local bus bound for Yamanami Onsen to the Yamanami Onsen Iriguchi bus stop. The trip is about 15 minutes, and the hot spring is a two-minute walk from the bus stop.
